When the liberty of speaking is set up against the possibility to offend people, it becomes difficult. What has the most weight? Offending people – or muzzeling yourself? Does it help to mirror the problem, to try to see it from another angle? The Norwegian newspaper is from 13 february 2008, the same day the Danish newspapers printed the muhammed drawings – and the Norwegians did not follow.

Life is protected
About the paintingOil on canvas 2007, 70 x 105 cm / 27,6 x 41,3 in. If you get out of your shall you will be vulnerable – revealed. That is how I feel when I show my paintings. Life, the yolk of an egg, can sometimes endure much and sometimes little – with only the thin egg-shell as a protection. Life is fragile, and yet you can bear so much. As an artist you have to let yourself be vulnerable. By mirroring the revealed egg I protect it. As I try to protect myself.
Opposite cures the opposite

I am trying here to, by mirroring them, to say that it is also possible to do something good with your money. It is my friend’s purse. It has been use for many good purposes, so it has become “used”.
